Who is Jesus?

In order to better understand Jesus,

let's look at His first public sermon

(which, by the way, is only two simple sentences).

"The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”  - Mark 1:15

Jesus fulfills biblical prophecies.

"The time is fulfilled..."



The bible speaks about a messiah, a savior, all the way back in the book of Genesis.  Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of those prophecies.

Jesus is King.  Jesus is LORD.

"...the kingdom of God is at hand..."

The King of Heaven descended to earth.  The bible calls Jesus 'the King of kings and the Lord of lords'.  Jesus is God Almighty in human flesh.  

Jesus is holy, we are not.

"Repent..."

Recognize that you are a sinner, in need of a savior.

Jesus paid for your sins on the cross!

"believe in the gospel." 
 

What is the gospel? It literally means good news!  Paul says, "I declare to you the gospel...Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures." 

Jesus wants us to exchange our guilt and shame for His righteousness!  That truly is good news.

Receive His forgiveness & live for Him!
