Rev. Chris Thomson
Director of DiscipleshipChris Thomson began serving at Concord in March of 2013, along with his wife Michelle and their three kids, Michaela, Carter, and Madeline. Prior to coming to Concord, Chris served 14 years as the Student Pastor of Forest Park Baptist in Joplin, and then served for 5 years as Children’s Pastor and Single’s Pastor at Abundant Life Baptist in Lee’s Summit. Before serving as the Director of Discipleship for Concord, Chris served as the Children and Family Pastor here for 6 years.
Chris attended Truman State University for 3 years, received his Bachelors of Biblical Literature degree from Ozark Christian College in 1995, formally ordained in 1997, and earned his Master of Theological Studies degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2018.
His heart’s desire is for all people (from Children to Senior Adults) to find real life through a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, who then become life-long disciples who make disciples.
His hope is that believers at Concord will fulfill the Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
